Description
Experience Level: Expert
Kind of letter: Legal
Topic: Legal Writing Tasks
Tone: Formal/Professional
Outline & Structure: We are a legal training provider and looking for a practising/non-practising solicitor with extensive writing experience to prepare legal training material for us.
The material will be used to help students prepare for a writing task assessment, which is intended to assess whether students have a threshold skill level to enable them to work effectively in professional legal services in an unqualified capacity.
The writing tasks could be on procedural or administrative matters, not including legal advice, in which students produce a formal letter or email for a client and for a third party.
The tasks would be intended to enable a student to demonstrate that they can write professionally, clearly and concisely. The exam requirements are that students must: (i) correctly identify the purpose of the letter(s). (ii) adopt house style and use formalities appropriate to the purpose and context. (iii) communicate clearly and fluently in grammatically correct English in a way that is appropriate to the recipient of the letter, purpose and context.
We would be looking to prepare 30 practice questions including suggested solutions (2-3 pages or 1,000-1,200 words each).
Please contact us if you have the necessary legal background and writing skills. Remuneration will be discussed separately with the right person.
