Description
The firm doesn't really have too much they can say that's PR-worthy, so the suggestion is to run a survey of 1000 married individuals with the aim of gaining interesting stats from the survey which can be used to gain PR coverage. NB. this job is not a 'write the press release' job, it's a 'gain press coverage job', so obviously includes you pitching this to journos and seeing the process through to coverage in as many online sources as you can. So the job includes:
- You agree a theme/topic for the survey that you believe will be PR-worthy and you write the survey questions (10 of). [the survey will be paid for by the client suing Survey Monkey's software, so will be surveying 1000 married individuals in the US). I will administer the survey and then pass you the data.
- Based on the survey data gathered, you create one or several PR angles to pitch to journos, and then pitch them.
- Follow the pitch process through to coverage (or at least confirmed agreement of coverage)
- For each agreed piece of coverage we'd like you to ask the journo to include a hyperlink to the law firm in acknowledgment of the firm being the source of the survey data.
One suggestion is to have the survey theme focus on married people's summer holidays (as the summer hols are coming up) and maybe explore how husbands/wives and maybe different age groups think/plan/worry about/pay for/book/etc their holiday. This is just one idea, and we are open to better ideas - basically whatever you think is most PR-worthy (as long as its not low-brow to affect the law firm's brand).
Any Qs, please let me know.

Hi Andy, I think using US couples will make UK press coverage difficult. My advice would be to use a UK market research outfit instead :-)
Andy H.13 Apr 2017Hi Shona, we dont know of a survey service that's UK focused and comes close to the cost of survey monkey doing this for us. US coverage is completely fine though if that's possible.
Shona M.13 Apr 2017Sorry Andy. I just wouldn't feel comfortable bidding for the job as my experience tells me it would be hard to get the relevant coverage your client is looking for using US data. It's a shame, as if you could find a UK outfit at the right price, the job is right up my street :-)

Hi there, I note that your survey data will be conducted using people in the US. Can you please confirm if this is US or UK based PR campaign? Thanks in advance, Pam
Andy H.12 Apr 2017Hi - yes this is a survey of US people but we're happy for the coverage to be UK or US, whichever helps gain most coverage.
Pamela B.12 Apr 2017Hi there - I would only be able to do the UK PR. Are you looking for both UK and US? It's difficult to advise re. this as I don't really know what the content will be yet. Where is your client based? UK? If this is the case, UK coverage will support business, however it might be difficult getting traction with UK media if the results are US centric. Please let me know. Thanks!
