Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: School of Geography, Uni of Oxford
Industry: Education
Design details: I need a poster designed to promote a public event in Oxford. The topic of the events is visioning food after Brexit.
I want the design to be eye-catching memorable and evoke a music gig/festival poster. I already have a picture in my mind of a design (see helpful material) and if this is feasible I would like these ideas to be developed.
This is the brief for the event.
Brexit offers a once in a generation opportunity to rethink and reboot our food system.
At issue is how and where food is grown, caught and reared, how it is processed and marketed, who profits from (and pays for) the current system, and what is the impact of our food system on public health, the environment and the workers in the system. This evening event will scope, discuss and debate how best to take forward the opportunity the Brexit offers.
Duncan Williamson, Head of Food Policy at WWF-UK will introduce the issues and an agenda for change. Three panellists will add their comment and visions to further prime the audience discussion.
I need a base design with text elements using a conventional font that I can edit and adjust as necessary.
I will be printing the poster using a colour printer in A5, A4 & A3
More than anything I need a design that will appeal to young environmental-minded people. Such that they think 'that sounds like a cool event -lets go'
Target audience: Environmental professionals based in Oxford, Post-grad, undergrad and sixth form students and citizens with an interest in food/enviornment issues
Content on the front/back side and body: Flocking environmentalists presents In association with Oxford Spires Academy and School of Geography & the Environment VISIONING FOOD AFTER BREXIT Presenting Duncan Williamson WWF Head of Food Policy Panelists: Julian Cottee, Marco Springmanm, and one other Chaired by Paul Jepson < Tues 1st Nov, 7pm, Oxford Spires Academy. Glanville Road, OX4 2AU Tickets on the door: £5/£2 student/unwaged Event url to add
Ideas for the visual style: evoke rock/music poster

What's the deadline?

Hi Paul.
This sounds like a really great project, a very interesting topic.
Regarding the attached drawing. Did you want the imagery to be graphic or photographic? And is the drawing final or is it open slightly to interpretation?
Thanks in advance. -
