I need a fast way to add product images, names, prices, etc. from an xml feed to the content area of a PHPlist message. I must be able to select only the products I want to display in the message.
I\'d like it to be something like the phplist [placeholder] tag. If you know phplist, you\'ll know what I mean. I\'m thinking it could be like [id 374] would place the product image, name, etc and would link to the product page (all for my product number 374). I\'d write some news, insert a few products I want to feature then maybe write a closing statement or two. Some examples of the feed formats and a link to a competitor\'s recent newsletter are included in the attached file. You can see how I want the product data to appear.
I can tweak the layout and options from your work but I don\'t know how to parse the xml data for individual products and I don\'t know how to call them while writing the newsletter. If there\'s a better way than a placeholder function, let\'s do it.
I\'ve chosen the data feed method because it has the proper format for page links, price etc. If we pulled directly from the ecommerce database, it would be complicated. The first feed in the attached file is Google Base and is my preference. Ideally, you will provide me with a list of file and DB changes based on a clean installation of the latest version of phplist.
Obviously, preference is given to those with good feedback and specific knowledge of phplist.
