Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are looking for presenters for a 'luxury' podcast. Please read all of the below and respond to the points raised to be considered :)
The format is as follows: 4 topics will be covered per episode; travel, dining, fashion & business. For 1 of these topics (rotating each week) there will be an investigative segment with interviews based around a particular concept within that topic. For our trial episode the concept for this investigative piece is: 'Why do all of the grand London hotels have resident artists, neuroscientists etc?' and will include interviews with resident artists and hotel managers.
Your role in this would be to host the podcast in a conversational tone covering topics that we will give you research on. What we are not looking for is someone who sees luxury as something only accessible by the wealthy who don't appreciate it anyway but as something that can have meaning and provide a memorable experience or genuine happiness (not something that's all glitz, brazen, marble & gold). We think that London embodies this idea in the sense of tasteful, smart luxury. Above all we are looking for someone who does not just read off a script but can have their own considered, rational and analytical opinion. Someone who thinks about why they love certain brands, because of course it's not as simple as 'I just really like their designs/service/rooms'!
The audience and therefore tone is as follows: With any luxury brand there is a split of the 'actual audience' or 'the majority' vs the 'idyllic audience' or 'the people who you wan't the actual audience to believe are the people that listen'. The actual audience set the nuanced and subtle message or goal of each episode whilst the 'idyllic audience' sets the tone. The actual audience will consist of aspirational luxury spenders and also Chinese, Arab & Russian people living in the UK who are either unable to afford the luxury market with the exception of low order goods such as fragrances or wallets from top brands or have a vast amount of money but spend it in a vulgar, tasteless manner. The idyllic audience is the British gentleman/woman that is conservative, stylish and extremely tasteful; they desire an understanding of every brand/restaurant/hotel and are analytical in terms of thinking about luxury, they understand that restaurant staff push to sell products with more margin and will consider this in their thoughts about such restaurant.
Happy to discuss the practical terms of this idea.
Ex Butler/Concierge would be ideal. Charisma and passion is key! British accent preferred.
Very happy to chat on the phone to anyone who thinks they like the sound of this but would like to learn more/have any questions!
Hope this provides a fairly detailed understanding of what we are looking for.

1. How long is each podcast?
2. I don't know how to edit audio, will editing be done on your end?
3. Where will the podcast air? Is it an independent channel, existing channel, or branded content? If branded content, who are the brand sponsors?
