General information for the business: The Bridge Co. is a London-based agency providing 360 business solutions and creatively commercial strategies to the most promising fashion and lifestyle brands. Specialists in brand positioning and thinking lean, we help new designers to launch, emerging designers to master the business side of fashion and more established labels to streamline, re-position and grow.

Description of support work: Among our services we provide consultancy packages to brands, have production and sales divisions and have recently expanded our services to offer bookkeeping and accounts to fashion and lifestyle brands and entrepreneurs. This division was set up in partnership with the former Finance Director of The Communications Store.
We are now recruiting for a part-time Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant to work closely with our company director, finance advisory team, and exciting roster of clients on keeping good records across the business. you will be responsible for all accounts payable and receivable, as well as credit control.
You will assist the wider team to ensure all processes run smoothly and undertake regular meetings with the company director to provide an up-to-date view on the business.
Additionally, you will be the accounts liaison for our sales team on the finance side of our sales service. You will keep records of sales orders in liaison with the Wholesale Admin Assistant and invoice both department stores for teh orders and brands for The Bridge Co.'s commission on those orders, managing international payments, various currencies, different VAT needs and chase payments from stores where required.
What sets us apart from traditional agencies is our 360 approach and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with exciting international brands and have a hand in the growth of their businesses, a well as actively grow the nascent finance division of The Bridge Co., with potential to undertake bookkeeping for the company's clients.
The successful candidate will ensure accuracy at all touchpoints and have a sharp eye for detail and maintaining records. You will be an organised person with a passion for spreadsheets, data and detail and a pride in efficiency. You will be looking to work in a fast paced fashion environment and ideally have an understanding of creative start-up culture.
Responsibilities include:
- Communicating effectively and professionally with suppliers, clients and The Bridge CO. staff
- Maintaining The Bridge Co. financial records on Xero
- Raising invoices for the company
- Raising invoices on behalf of the company's clients
- Preparing flat rate VAT returns
- Providing profit and loss reports to the company director and attending monthly meetings
You will:
- Have at least 1 year's experience working in a similar role
- Be confident putting together reports and spreadsheets
- Be reliable, organised, flexible and scrupulous in your attention to detail
- Be confident using Google Drive and Excel
- Ideally have experience using Xero or willingness to use this
- Speak and write excellent English and be a maths whizz
- Be happy to work in a growing agency in East London on a part-time freelance contract with a view to a permanent role developing in time
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Be available to start immediately
