Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: greenfield project, production of pallets in Europe, 10 months machine construction, thereafter business ramp up
Target audience: Financial model specialists
Research needed: no
Chapters needed: Financial Model project TAL
Information to be included in each chapter: This is a start up in a logistics supported manufacturing plant (production of cardboard boxes);
We have a model for a plant which can be used and adapted to suit the specifics of the NEW plant, to be located in Austria. All data for the model to be supplied (e.g. local cost of employees and social costs, e.g. pension+social security payments, raw material costs, electricity rates, etc.).
The project code-named TAL will consist of securing investors in the amount of up to €2.5 million for the production machinery (1 machine) which is the large part of the investment and takes about 10 months from order.
Open communication a must, also available to call on Skype to discuss project in detail and answer questions/give guidance etc.
Extra notes: The model to be supplied as a base to tailor it to project TAL is good but certainly not perfect, I found also a couple of mistakes in it. Key for us it to have someone with experience in financial modelling clean it up, adapt it, enlarge it (to include cash flows particularly in view of the pre-production period which includes the construction of the machine and payments during the 10 months construction period). Sales to ramp up slowly over 3 years with about 25% of capacity utilised in year1, 50% in y2 and 80% in y3. Model should show P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and ROI/IRR returns for equity investors.
IMPORTANT: The model should also highlight investment returns for the equity investors on an IRR and ROI basis for a 5 and/or 7yr holding period. There is also the consideration of using debt for a portion of the investment.
Start time in about a week to 10 days, final model to be finished within a couple of week from start.
Current model to be supplied to selected individuals for feedback.

Hi Mark
Please confirm the place of plant installation
-
I'm confused re the level of funding required, £2.5m Mark. Have the Directors had success with raising funds in the past or are they investment a sizeable amount of capital themselves?
-
Hi Mark do you have any budget in mind?
