Description of support work: We are a Dutch IT company looking to expand into Singapore and therefore need help from 1 Freelancer Data Centre Technician/ Engineer. Selected candidate would be our "men on the ground" for our clients who are based in Singapore. The candidates must place a high regard to customer service and satisfaction so attitude is also a key component to the requirements.
Please note that you must be working physically in Singapore and that this work is 90% physical, which includes wiring, mounting and configuring servers and other equipment.
Responsibilities
*Provide on-site physical support of the network infrastructure
*Deploy and configure all type of servers (for this you will be trained)
*Diagnose and repair various network and hardware issues
*Install and remove server, network, and infrastructure equipment.
*Receive, unbox, and move assets from building loading dock to secure company storage
*Update and maintain corporate asset management system with all moves, adds, and changes *Communicate with customers via email, chat, telephone, and corporate ticketing system
*Perform daily walkthroughs of the environment to check for system faults and escalate
*Cable infrastructure and hosts per industry guidelines (you will be trained)
Requirements/Eligibility
*Good English both written as verbal communications is required
*Good business professional oral and written communication skills.
*Exceptional team player -- willing to go above and beyond to ensure tasks are completed *Understanding of data centre infrastructure systems and various requirements
*Must have the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
*Able to perform equipment installations and dock duties (lift and move up to 50lbs)
*Basic understanding of computer technology
Preferred skills but not necessary
*Familiar with enterprise data centre environment cabling standards and quality control
*Familiar with diagnosing network, operating system, and component failure issues
*1-3 years experience in IT*Intermediate experience working with Windows Server 2003 and 2008 *Previous experience working in a complex high availability data centre environment.
Interviews will be conducted by phone or Skype or/and physically in Singapore. Payment is on an hourly basis with travel and telephone costs to be reimbursed. All training will be provided by us in Singapore.
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A CRIMINAL CHECK AND MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN SINGAPORE. As this is a Freelancing position, Freelancers may be asked to work at the weekends or outside normal working hours.
