Description
Experience Level: Entry
Hi
I need an app to fix dates in csv (spreadsheet) files for me. It's for personal use, so nothing fancy. Non rooted devices. I'm not in a rush. Files have less than 1000 lines.
Here's how it should work:
1. Select csv file on device.
2. Define numerical date format to find (in any cell) using dd, mm, and yyyy letters with a character between. (example: mm-dd-yyyy). Remember last used input for next time app is used. Year can be 2 or 4 digits (yy or yyyy). Date will be found in its own cell(s) (no need for complex matches).
3. Define date format to replace with (example: dd/mm/yyyy). Remember last input here too.
4. Define data delimiter. Remember last input.
5. Submit button opens csv file, finds all instances of dates in format specified in step 2 and turns them into dates specified in step 3. Then saves a new csv file (anywhere on device, as long as it's always the same directory) with the old filename and "_converted" appended to it. Don't overwrite existing files with same name.
That's all. Can you do it?
Also, I'd like to see the source code at the end, because I plan to learn how to code apps and might modify it myself :) fyi I'll own the source code.
Thanks
