Hi,
I need some php guidance please as I need a %u2018Nearest Site Locator%u2019 postcode search function with Google Map just like the one on this page: http://www.pitch-invasion.com/ (right-col) where you enter a postcode and get a great results page with a list of nearest places and a google map with those places highlighted.
I%u2019ve found the php code and a tutorial for this at: http://aciddrop.com/2007/12/17/quick-easy-and-free-nearest-store-postcodezip-finder/
I%u2019ve got a database table of locations all ready with the necessary postcode, lat and lang columns in it & I%u2019ve also installed Json_decode module on the server.
The database of locations will be added to over time (by client) with a postcode and address being entered in an admin section - but not longtitudes and latitudes - this I need to be automatically geocoded by google - and looped back to the site - which I believe is what the code does (see aciddrop.com link above)
I%u2019d need the postcode search box to be on my website at this page: http://www.cyclopsbeer.co.uk/find-a-beer.php
Alongside a big google map of the UK with all the breweries positioned on there.
When someone performs a postcode search the results page (http://www.cyclopsbeer.co.uk/nearestbrewery.php) needs to be just like the central area of pitch invasion: http://www.pitch-invasion.com/players/league-locations/post-code/WR9 0JZ with the headline %u201Cbreweries closest to %u2018Postcode here%u2019
Also one small addition to this job - a google map has to also appear on this page according to a postcode from a recordset (http://www.cyclopsbeer.co.uk/breweriesdetail.php?id=12&name=Coors) however it has to work - as you see my attempt positions the map somewhere in the USA :|
Any help much appreciated!
