Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: MVP 1ish weeks then full features end March
Hi, thanks for viewing our project, there’s a lot of info so please take the time to review it fully as it may seem ore complicated than it actually is.
Please read this brief CAREFULLY and in the specific order outlined below…
I will only consider applications from people who have an idea for a solution that will work and be cost effective.
**Please view in this order as it will make things much easier to understand.**
1. Section 1 - 2
2. View the "Repair Booking Form Refined.PDF" attachment
3. Section 3 onwards...
Very Brief Overview:
My client needs a multi-step repair booking form for his Wordpress website which either runs on top of WooCommerce (to pull the pricing and product data / variables) or uses it's own database / CMS system for variables and prices. How you achieve that is open to discussion....
but I believe it to be achievable with WooCommerce Gravity Forms Add-on + WooCommerce Composite Products. So ideally I'd like to work with a WooCommerce expert who knows how to implement the form in this method. It just seems the most logical and cost effective way.
SECTION 1:
Ideally we’d like a phased approach, starting with the basic form (MVP) with simple functionality so people can book the repair online, then adding the extra features which are more complex (as you’ll see below)
SECTION 2:
**How we integrate this with our live Wordpress website**
1st choice: We use Woocommerce with Gravity Forms Add-on (allows multi step forms) + Composite products add-on
2nd choice: We use a different e-commerce system / CMS to power the form
Least preferred: We could create a subdomain which hosts the booking form running on a different system e.g CodeIgnitier, TeaCommerce, etc. User would be re-directed upon clicking “book repair online”
SECTION 3:
**INFO ON FORM PROGRESSION** Ensure you've viewed the Form Brief PDF first.
It's worth noting that STEP1 on the brief is quite complicated, with many conditional steps, so if you think it would make things easier we can move this to the final step where user is selecting repair types and seeing the live prices before checkout.
[A“Visit us”] [B “Postal”] [C: “CallOut”] [D: “Courier”] <- This are the Step1 options currently (see PDF)
See the spreadsheet for the data we'll be using with the variables in price only need phones for now.
SECTION 4:
I'd prefer us to use an off the shelf plugin, add-on, or pre packaged software solution and customise it to keep costs down.
If you know an "off-the-shelf" solution, I'm happy for us to buy it and simply customise to our needs.
WooCommerce have suggested using Composite Products Add-On
https://www.woocommerce.com/products/composite-products/
+ Gravity Forms Add-On
https://docs.gravityforms.com/creating-multi-page-forms/
SECTION 5:
I can provide the UI design for you and all graphical assets such as icons etc. All you need to do is the development, if you're a full-stack dev all the better. You can work with a basic wireframe to begin with if that's easier..
We have already integrated Barclays ePDQ for online payments with WooCommerce. If we're not able to use WooCommerce then it will have to be integrated again.
PHASED APPROACH (to meet a deadline of March 20th):
As we need to get this live and start testing ASAP I think it would be best to break this down into milestones. Starting with the basic form, allowing users to select device group, then type, then the specific issue which will display a cost so they can pay online and book at their local store.
*Phase 1* - Basic online repair booking form working without all the complex conditional logic or postcode search, etc. Just a form for selecting the device group, device type, displaying price and then selecting the store before taking online payment.
(Ideally 1 week but latest 2 weeks)
*Phase 2* - Adding all of the “bells and whistles” conditional logic steps, postcode search, variable pricing based on store, repair option (courier, collect and dropoff) etc, outlined in the PDF.
( March 20th-21st deadline)
I'd appreciate an honest answer as to whether this is something you can do and is within your skill-set…
Thanks and any questions please do get back to me, we’re very eager to commence this project within the next 1-2 days.
