VIRTUAL HEARING SOLUTIONS (VHS)
MARKETING STRATEGY CONSULTING SPCIFICATIONS
NOVEMBER 2017
Objective:
Identify project consultant to create overall marketing approach for Virtual Hearing Solutions’ new entry into hearing health market. Anticipated approaches include both B2B2C and B2C.
Market Background and Products/Services:
The hearing health market has been long neglected. It’s estimated that 45 million Americans suffer from hearing loss, but only 14% purchase hearing aids. VHS goal is to expand awareness of hearing loss from both workplace and individual health perspectives and improve access to hearing aid solutions at more affordable price points.
VHS primary services feature a free online hearing test to measure hearing loss and sales of top-tier hearing aids from reputable US manufacturers at highly discounted prices. Ancillary features will include a 1 year supply of batteries and cleaning products; attractive refund/warranty policies; and online/telephonic access to contracted audiologists for customers than need them.
B2B2C targets include but are not limited to:
Employers
Associations
Affinity Groups
Unions/trusts/PEOs
Other mass marketers – medical alert companies, senior independent living software platforms, payroll deduction sales aggregators B2C operations are anticipated to include direct web marketing and leads furnished by contracted call centers.
In all cases, actual consumers will be directed to interact with VHS website/apps and/or contracted call centers. Note – since VHS is in the hearing business, want to converse with customers – as long as the conversations are productive and not just social. The intent is to furnish excellent customer service and not just hide behind websites and other social media infrastructure.
Project Scope:
The initial project scope is construction of a comprehensive marketing strategy outline including but not limited to the following deliverables:
2-pronged distribution methods (B2B2C and B2C)
Creation of appropriate design/branding templates for universal use – noting that actual messages may vary due to distribution method or specific population targets
Social media outlets
Hard copy materials
Branding as necessary to support specific market initiatives – e.g., collaboration with senior independent living communication systems that enable seniors to stay in their homes and connected with caregivers, loved ones, and medical providers.
The final strategy outline will enable VHS management to understand how to properly prioritize and manage sequential activities across multiple markets. Educate management on potential resourcing options for execution of the various activities and thoughts on where to identify them and how they should be evaluated and priced.
The selected consultant may be asked to actively participate in the actual execution and operation of the activities at management’s discretion. Among the key variables will be the consultant’s ability and willingness to “invest” effort and resources in exchange for leveraged financial rewards. Exact form tbd, but current thought is to use % of sales as the primary reward method.
