Description

Experience Level: Intermediate
I am looking for someone who can assist me in some market research into the administration needs of small businesses. I would prefer someone based in the UK with a London or Essex accent, but will consider anyone with a well spoken English accent. The subject matter is a bit dull, so someone with a bubbly personality who can make it a bit more fun would be appreciated!

This will involve cold calling, but there is no selling involved. This is purely market research.

You must be confident at making telephone calls as I have no script. I do have a paper based survey and covering letter for you to work from which I will send to you if your bid is successful. The survey consists of 10 questions with multiple choice answers. I am not a professional survey writer, so any comments on content or suggestions for improvement welcome!!

It would be desirable if you had some knowledge of the day to day running of small businesses in case you are asked any questions. I will also supply details of my website for you to look at so you have an idea of what we do in case you are asked any questions.

I have a list of small businesses in my local area (approx 320) which includes business name, address and telephone number.

I need you to:

1. Call each business and find out the business’s main or most suitable contact name for the survey and then ask them to participate in the market research. Participants will be entered into a prize draw, so please make sure you mention this.

2. If they are not available, find out when they are and schedule a time to call them back.

3. If they don’t want to participate over the telephone, ask if we can post or email it to them. Please make sure the contact details we hold for them are correct. I would prefer the survey done over the phone, so please try and resist this option.

4. I will send you the survey template via email and this can be completed on your PC and saved for each participant. Completed forms will need to be emailed back to me by 30 APRIL 2009 at the latest. I am quite happy for you to send them back in batches.

5. If any businesses require the survey to be sent to them, please let me know about these ASAP (by email with confirmed contact details) so that I can arrange for the survey to be mailed immediately.

6. I would appreciate a call at the end of every day to let me know how you are getting on.

I will be making random calls from the survey results to ensure that they are genuine.

I am willing to split the list between 2 or 3 people if you don’t think you can manage all 320 by 30 April.

In you bid, please state your previous experience in completing similar tasks (with references if possible), how many contacts you wish to be responsible for and a fixed price to complete the task. Please also let me know how long you think it will take you.

THIS TASK MUST BE COMPLETED BY 30 APRIL 2009.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this job and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards
