No business becomes a great business without great management accounts!
I have a track record of building and growing businesses in the services sector and have successfully sold a number of companies.
I have recently invested in 3 start ups, all Manchester based, and plan to make a number of further investments over the next year or so. Each of the businesses use an online accounting package (www.xero.com) and the book keeping (data entry) is presently outsourced to an accountancy firm (approximately 5 - 10 hours per week).
I am interested in bringing this function 'in-house' by setting up a 'group' finance function. I am looking for somebody to make this happen and to work with me on growing these businesses and building the group.
The role would be very hands on, initially part time (perhaps 5 - 10 hours per week?) and even longer term you would be a team of one. Much of the work can be web based but with some limited travel to visit the companies from time to time.
You would need to build strong relationships with each of the companies, earning the trust and respect of these young dynamic teams.
Turnover accross the businesses is around £1 million and expected to double this year, before we add any other investments and there are 12 full time staff.
I think this role is somewhat different from the usual (first time on peopleperhour!) and presents an exciting opportunity for the right person.
