General information for the website: Need jQuery DOM manipulation to restructure elements parsed from XML
Description of requirements/features: I have a SharePoint site with a products page that contains a navigation control where over 1500 products are being retrieved from the SharePoint metadata term store, then parsed into a div. The parsing works and all products are contained in the DOM as 's. I need help with manipulating the DOM though because some of the elements need their tag type replaced and a CSS class added. Due to the nested structure, I am having difficulty manipulating the items with jQuery the way I need them. I am attaching screenshots of a sample code segment for the existing html elements as well as a screenshot for the way the html elements need to appear once they have been manipulated. The InnerNav-Have.html is the structure that needs to be manipulated. The InnerNav-Need.html is how it should look after the manipulation has been performed with jQuery.
