Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are looking for a Java developer to work on a front end GUI for a backup product. We presently have two possible options for development of this:
1) wrapping a command line only application rsync, or
2) re-branding an Open-source application and stripping out unnecessary features.
We are open to the possibility of developing an application from scratch, though it will have to work with the existing server infrastructure and given the tight time scales we feel the wrapper is the best option.
Ideally we would like someone who is familiar with backup products and has knowledge of how a delta copy works, however, this is not necessary only an advantage. There are plans to include the Open-source iscsi windows drivers into the application in the future, this is to allow end users to be able to map the remote backup drive as a drive on their computer.
The server side of the application is pretty much finished, as it is just using standard rsync.
The application is to get it\'s configuration from the server once the user supplies a username and password, this is to be a simple POST request over https (http for testing). We have a test server set up for you to develop against.
More information can be provided to interested developers, please post questions on the clarification board or let us know if you would like further information.
