Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
General information for the website: One page website made up of widget areas
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of every page/module: I have a one page Wordpress website.
The page is separated in to sections using widgets.
For example, the basic layout is as follows.
Section 1 = image slider
Section 2 = about us section
section 3 = products and services
Section 4 = contact us
The content for each section has been added to an individual page and then I've used PHP in the widgets to retrieve and display the content in the appropriate section.
For example, I've created a page called 'About Us' and added the content. I've then added PHP in a widget that displays the 'About Us' content in the 'About Us' section on the homepage.
I don't want the About Us page to be viewed anywhere else, the content from this page is only displayed on the homepage.
Description of requirements/features: I want to install the history.js script so that when you scroll to the different sections on the homepage, the URL in the browser changes to the URL of the associated page.
For example, when you scroll down the page to the 'About Us' section, the URL in the browser will change to http://mydomain.com/about-us
This needs to be set up so that Google indexes each section as an individual page.
Information of the history.js script can be found here https://github.com/browserstate/history.js/
For reference, this site explains what I'm trying to achieve http://www.iprospect.com/en/gb/blog/parallax-scrolling-and-seo-how-to-use-jquery-to-seo-your-website/
Extra notes: Please only respond if you are familiar with working with history.js and know how it should be implemented. You will also need to be an expert with Wordpress.
Also, if you think there is a better way to achieve this, I'm open to suggestions. The goal is to have a one page site that is broken down in to sections that need to be indexed as individual pages.
This website does something similar although I don't think it enables the sections to be indexed https://www.newfangled.com/parallax-test/index.php/
