This is a reasonably straightforward and, I would expect, quick task to execute. As well as being an Excel expert, you probably will have a current (or recent) background as an accountant or book-keeper I imagine...
What I am looking for is a simple spreadsheet (Excel 2003) that will accurately calculate a UK individual\'s liability for Income tax and NI contributions whether they are employed, self-employed, or not working.
I want this to be based on the 2010/2011 regime so it will need to incorporate the correct rules on
* tax on investment income where some has been deducted at source as well as where it is gross (overseas) or tax free (equity ISA). For cash ISAs I want to be able to show this income as part of a client\'s total income but for the spreadsheet to ignore it when calcuating the tax liability
* tax on dividend income
* tax on other unearned income (such as property portfolio)
* 20% / 40% / 50% tax thresholds or earned income
* P11D benefits / Car benefits
* the effect of contributions to personal pensions increasing the thresholds
* the restriction (anti-forestalling rules) for personal pension contributions
* age allowance & the withdrawal of this when income exceeds the relevant threshold
* differing personal allowances (including those for blind and the very rare married couples allowance etc)
* any relief that should be due to investments in products such as EIS/VCTs etc
I need to be able to change the parameters in future years as & when new rates are announced.
I\'ve written my own in the past but to be honest I\'ve got a lot on my plate starting up my new business at the moment & haven\'t got the time to re-do it all for this year with all the rule changes, which is where you come in.
The outputs need to be well set out and nicely formatted (landscape or portrait) would be good so I can just cut & paste them straight into my client reports.
You can bid on a fixed-fee on hourly rate basis. If the latter please confirm your approximation for the time you expect to take.
Please use the clarification board to ask any questions.
Thanks,
CB
