Experience Level: Intermediate
We fair and paint superyachts (the exterior areas).
In order to do our estimates, we must estimate the exterior surface area of the different areas of the yacht (hull, superstructure, bottom, decks etc).
We are often only provided with a PDF of the GA (a 2D "General Arrangement" drawing which shows the different parts of the yacht), sometimes we are provided with a .dwg drawing.
We need someone to create a simple 3D model (or Rhino) of the yacht in order that you can then provide reasonable accurate exterior surface area information of all areas to be painted. (within 5-10%). We have used a naval architect to do this work for us in the past. I am looking for an economical solution so we can have every boat measured before we quote.
