Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We analyse asset prices
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Num. of modules: 2
Description of every module: Module One: Data gathering. If I input a list of tickers into a sheet I need the module to retrieve historical daily prices from Google finance over a time period (also specified in the sheet as an input parameter). The historical prices should all be inserted into separate tabs and be listed from newest day to oldest day.
So at the end of running this module there will be a separate tab for each of the specified tickers containing historical daily prices from newest to oldest.
Module Two: Now that the tabs are all in consistent formats, I need to run a formula (i.e. =Ticker1!Offset()) for each ticker and show the result on the main tab. As the formats as the same the formula should be the same for every tab (except for the tab name obviously).
Description of requirements/functionality: Inputs: Ticker names, period dates
Outputs: historical prices in each tab, main tab showing results of my formula run for each ticker
I will be running this on Office for Mac but as far as I can tell VBA works the same as on Windows.
OS requirements: Windows, Mac OS
Extra notes: I imagine this will be really easy for anyone who has worked with Google Finance on VBA. Although there is plenty of code to get you started here http://investexcel.net/google-finance-stock-quotes-in-excel/
