Our company matches physicians to hospitals. We charge hospitals based on the number of hours that the doctor works at specific rates depending on the speciality and type of service they are providing. Hospitals are also billed for the travel expenses incurred by each physician. We are looking to build an app that physicians use to document their hours worked, the number of direct patient care hours (which we use for our malpractice policy). In short, it's a web-based timecard that sends out email timecards to the client hospital, to us and to our book keepers so that they can build an invoice from the # hours worked. We would also like to build in a functionality for the physicians to upload photos of their receipts so that the book keepers can line item the expenses for the invoice. We would also really like this to be responsive so that our physicians can use it via phone.
We do have a live example of another website with all the functionalities that you can explore. Because it's live however I cannot list the site & passwords on this ad.
Here's a more detailed overview of how the app works:
-There's a provider view, and that's what you see with that login. Then there's an admin view, which lets us add new users (docs), new people that the card will be sent to (their photo and email address).
-In the provider view, the doc selects the hospital where they worked. they then build a timecard. Notice that when they work overnight the computer knows their hours spanned midnight and it can add hours beyond 24 hours automatically. So if you put 10 AM until 11AM computer figures you went 25 hours of work. You may want to change that in the version we make.
-Anyhow, once the doc makes the timecard, they also decide how many hours of DIRECT PATIENT CARE they provided. They know that direct patient care is how much time they were actually at the bedside. The doc can save the card and work on it later or can click submit.
- Once card is submitted, several emails are generated at once and sent out. The app shows the timecard as sent. You can see it gives option to re-send, delete, or send email saying that timecard is wrong (retract) and here's another.
- One email goes to the person who will generate the invoice for the center via quickbooks.
- One goes to the person at the hospital as an email with an electronic PDF of the doc's timecard. The person at the hospital (usually medical director or responsible manager) signs the timecard. It works like sign now. Once they sign it, it auto-emails itself to the person in our company we designate to receive the signed timecard. (Jack could get this.)
- The timecards and emails that go to the center do NOT contain the direct patient care hours, they only contain the time worked. The email that comes to us (from the initial batch of emails) DOES contain the patient care hours. That way we can track it for malpractice insurance reasons. Finally an email copy gets sent to our book keepers so that they can build an invoice.
