Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
Hi there!
I would need a graphic designer to do some work on a small (A3) poster on the benefits of a supplement for a medical setting (waiting rooms in small clinics, both rural and urban) in West Africa. There is a double audience for this poster as it addresses both patients (as far as the titles and overall aspect are concerned) and medical personnel (product reminder & reference information on the contra-indications for instance).
Some elements of the poster are predefined, which should help you to properly focus on the design. There should be a stock image of a West African-looking (most African-Americans do not look anything like West Africans) person in a white blouse as well as a photo of a smiling child (and actual consumer of the product)(provided). It should be graphical/visual (flashy is ok). Key information should easy to read and understand. Some information will be there for reference purposes (low visibility is acceptable/expected in this case: nutritional table, recommended uses and contra-indications). Medical visual codes should be respected overall (sober, clean design) though some liberties can be taken given to take into account the African context (semi-cheesy by Western European standards will typically be perceived more positively than minimalism).
The content will be in French, but no knowledge of French on behalf of the graphic designer is necessary as I will provide a rough translation of the content to let your creative juices flow without any misunderstanding on the relative importance of the various texts).
You will find attached:
- a (right type of cheesy) commercial poster for the same product in a non-medical context;
- the image of the child that must be used.
The exact texts will be given to the selected freelancer only.
The quote must include a mock-up phase (including the selection of the stock image), the full design and immediate corrections to the design (especially important for non-French speakers), as well as the delivery of the complete files (INDD source files + PDF export for printing purposes).
My selection criteria will be the following: price; portfolio relevance; portfolio quality; quality of communication. Bonus points: speed of delivery; Western African background (or similar); understanding or mastery of French.
Ideally, I'd like the process to look like this:
1. Initial steps – YOU: Basic questions; quote. ME: Selection; escrow payment.
2. Mock-up — YOU: Mock-up; stock image proposals. ME: Feedback.
3. Final draft — YOU: Final draft. ME: Minor corrections (typos, etc.).
4. Final poster — YOU: Everything finalized; files sent. ME: Payment.
Warm regards,

Hello Renaud,
Have you found the designer you want to work with?
Otherwise, I'm interested.
Honestly, I don't have any questions other than wanting to know about the product, company branding guideline.
