Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: Homewares Retailer - Need to Fix Bugs and Finalise New Magento Site
Description of requirements/features: Background is:
Trying to launch a new Magento website that links with my existing shop point-of-sale system. I’m using company called Patchworks to provide the link and we seem to have worked through our teething problems so catalogue being picked up correctly in Magento. We have lots of products ready to go on the Magento site so, with some tidying up and figuring out the sales / order process we should be able to launch it reasonably quickly.
You can see the website in progress here:
http://luma.juno.is/
I bought a ready made Magnento Theme, http://sebian.demo.arw.tf/furniture/ and have the documentation to go with that. Made a few presentation changes from that theme.
Remaining bugs in presentation:
Homepage selection and editing content:
we originally used the Sebian ‘furniture’ homepage option. That seems to have disappeared and we’re left with a different format that doesn’t have any ‘new arrivals’
- we know how to change the images in the main banner, but not how to edit content on the rest of the home page, and just need guidance on this, in words we understand. E.g. before the ‘new arrivals’ section of the homepage disappeared, the answer I was given on how to edit this section was:
How to add New Arrivals
Admin >CMS->page->luma home page
you can see widget type="cms/widget_block" template="cms/widget/static_block/default.phtml" block_id="arw_sebian_home_furniture_block_new_arrival"
This widget call this static block "arw_sebian_home_furniture_block_new_arrival". this Static block call another widget "furniture_new_arrival". you can go http://luma.juno.is/index.php/admin/widget_instance/edit/instance_id/2/key/955fc18216bd382f69a5e08025a4cdcd/ and check this widget.
Maybe this would make sense if the link worked, but as it is at moment, I’m none the wiser.
Comparison function
When hover over product image, a pop up box gives 3 options including “Add to Compare”, if you select that, you get a confirmation that product added to comparison list but can’t see how to access the list.
Minor presentation issues
Various tiny details, like the confirmation message that product added to comparison list not being correct colour, new logo to upload etc
Mobile website
Some presentation not consistent with main site, e.g., home page dropdown catalogue on solid black base, and pages that have table of product options don’t work very well on small screens. e.g. this page http://luma.juno.is/lighting/pendant-lights/rowan-pendant-lights/golden-smoke-rowan-pendant-light-461. Any ideas for that?
Sales & Customer emails
Need to customise the emails sent to customers at different stages of order process. We could probably do ourselves if knew how to do it but Magento guidance not written in language I understand. Alternatively, happy to pay someone to set all up.
Once we’ve done the above, we can go ahead and test some orders and take from there. Please provide a proposal to complete the work set out above
