Seeking a fundraiser to help develop the DVMISSION 48 Hour Film Challenge as a sustainable venture.
DVMISSION is Portsmouth and the South Coasts annual 48 Hour Film Challenge. We have been running for over ten years and we are increasingly finding it hard to fund the event in a sustainable and self-sufficient way. The organisation is a not-for-profit run by volunteers and though we charge a small entry fee this doesn't really touch the sides when it comes to paying for the event.
You can find out more about DVMISSION here: http://www.dvmission.co.uk/
There is also a PDF attached to this advert which noutlines what we can offer potential sponsors though we are also keen to hear your ideas for how we can access the sponsors that will take us through the next ten years of the 48 film challenge.
This year we are seeking to recruit one or more fundraisers to secure prizes, cash sponsorship and so on. The competition has 13 awards and we are seeking sponsors for each award who will donate a minimum of £200 for a package of rewards. Which means the target we wish to raise is only £2600 (though of course raising more would also be useful).
We are in a position offer: payment, mentoring and support to whoever takes on the role, provision of marketing and promotional materials, feedback/review from supervisor, references/credits, free tickets for the DVMISSION Presents event at the Wedgewood Rooms on 17th March 2018 and whatever else we can help with.
We think this would suit students or graduates in the fields of event management, marketing, sales, arts administration, media sales, marketing and management. The role will include attending networking events and meetings to pitch to potential sponsors. It would suit someone with a passion for development of local creative industries and/or film and cinema.
The position would run from the earliest possible date in 2017 until February 2018. We anticipate around 3-4 hours a week though this may vary according to the availability of networking and pitching opportunities.
