Foldscope needs a mobile app for iOS and Android

Foldscope (www.foldscope.com) makes affordable scientific tools for democratizing access to science. Co-founded by Stanford scientists Manu Prakash and Jim Cybulski, Foldscope manufactures and sells these affordable scientific tools, like the Foldscope itself, an origami-inspired microscope that costs just a few dollars. We are looking for a mobile app that will allow Foldscope users to take pictures and videos (which they have recorded by physically coupling the Foldscope to a mobile device, see example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3AdXLNZh_I) . ***The app should be able to include a scale bar to the picture, for example like with Google maps. This is because many users will not be familiar with the length-scales (microns) used in the microscopic world. Like with a Google maps scale bar, the value above the scale should update when the field of view is magnified by digital zoom on the device.

We also want the app to link to an online community of Foldscope users (we already have users posting at microcosmos.foldscope.com) We want users to be able to post pictures and include text, location, and subject matter.

Please share portfolio examples and provide references for previous contract work.

To start, we are looking for a minimum viable product, with more emphasis on functionality than design. See the wireframes that we have uploaded in the zip file. We need this app to be functional for iOS and Android, and we are looking for a VERY QUICK turnaround time (a couple of weeks).
