Description
Experience Level: Expert
Topic: Crime Novel
Tone: Other
Outline & Structure: I'm hoping to find a really experienced and talented Development Editor who has worked on crime novels over the past few years. You may also be an author yourself?
This is for a 50,000 word crime based novel.
I'm NOT looking for someone to tell me how great my writing is. My thick skin can take all the criticism you give and your honest feedback won't hurt my feelings. Be as brutal as it takes. I'm out to make the book the best it can be and I'll work with you to reach this goal.
I want someone who is dedicated to helping me make my book a real page turner. To help me improve the story and make sure it flows and all makes sense. To show me where I have gone wrong and guide me to greatness! To help me give my readers a truly compelling story.
I'm after someone who is clear, concise and precise in their communications. Who is reliable and has the time and won't disappear at some point before the project is completed and can deliver within the time scale we both agree on.
I want you to help me determine the best order for the chapters, highlight places where the text may have digressed too far, and point out areas where more explanation is needed or where it starts to send you to sleep rather than get you to turn the page.
I understand the value a good editor can bring to the table and I will gladly listen to your comments and suggestions and will act upon them.
I'm happy to pay you what you are worth and be someone you enjoy working with.
Please only apply if you have experience in editing crime novels and you are a UK or US Native English speaker and you are happy to supply me with details of work you have undertaken in recent years.
If you are interested I can send you the first two chapters so you can get a feel for my work.
Brief synopsis:
"What if you are homeless and you win £165 million on the Lotto and then discover a vicious criminal thinks the ticket belongs to him and is out to get his money back - at ANY cost"
Extra notes:
