Description
Experience Level: Expert
The object of this project is to develop and build a website, focusing on selling car bulbs and bulb kits.
We have a supplier and a very low cost base, as well as this we will provide all content including bulb pictures, prices, vehicle database, and we even have our domain name and a mock up of what the home page should look like(all be it with a few changes).
Attached is a picture of our rival site, www.powerbulbs.com The reason I have attached this picture is to emphasize the importance of the drop down menus. Looking at the site home page, you have the ability to select what vehicle you have, in this case I have chosen a 98-05 model vauxhall astra.
also on the home page is the ability to choose the bulb from a drop down menu on the home page, ideally with both menu's side by side on the home page, much like the picture i have attached.
here are the key requirements.
1. drop down menus to select vehicle make, model and year and go button. this drop down menu I will want on the left hand side of the screen at all times when the customer is on my site
2. drop down menu for clued up customers, to simply choose their fitting from a list of available bulbs
3. like the picture attached, once the menu options have been chosen, to be presented with a picture of a car, offering the opportunity for customers to select from a list on the top left hand corner of the screen, or to click on the part of the car that they want the bulb for, then they can select the page and view the picture add to basket and go back and make multiple purchases for the one vehicle. i understand from other people this will involve creation of a database, am i correct? the info currently is on a pdf file, are able to pull data from a pdf file for creation of a database?
4. integrated paypal for accepting payment.
5. a clean, consumer friendly layout and colour scheme, with a website that looks full but isnt too busy to read anything
6. the ability to create an account on the site for a personalised shopping experience, for example 'welcome back Mr Smith'
7. the ability to show products bought at the same time as the item on the page 'customer who bought this, also bought these' to encourage links sales www.autobulbsdirect.com
8. easily updatable site (CMS? content management system?) to update prices, update the database with new vehicles, add new pages/and products
we have designed our own logo, have bought our domain name and the info has been researched and ready to be submitted. We can provide an FTP account to upload the site as we have no technical knowledge of websites neither.
SEO - what facilities/services can you offer to get our site into google and nearer the top of a search?
