Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
The client:
A small Limited company, established in 2001, based near Camberley, Surrey. The core business is business training and consultancy, mainly in B2B commercial skills and processes.
The project:
Developing an on-line personal performance management portal where users will be able to access performance data for their organization and themselves in a variety of numerical and graphical formats.
The role:
The data analyst will:
- Create a template spreadsheet which client organizations will use to supply information, either from their MIS or keyed in by users via the portal.
- Write the code/formulas to be applied to the spreadsheet to enable data to be shown in graphical format such as scatter, distribution curves, 80/20 split, averages, rankings etc. on a web portal.
- Liaise with the portal designers/operators to maximize the degree of automation of data capture and access.
- Periodically review client data to look for data patterns/trends and provide findings in a format that a semi-IT literate consultant can use to advise clients
- the expected growth in this area could lead to a full-time position (if mutually desirable) in due course.
Six Sigma / Lean Process data analysis and interpretation experience could be very appropriate.
The right person:
The right person for this work would probably meet the following criteria:
- Experience of working in multi-site commercial organizations with direct and/or indirect sales force
- Experience of working with sales data, either stand alone or pulling off ERP/SAP/salesforce management systems
- Creative analytical skills with the ability to get straight to the key points and present succinctly
- Able to work to tight deadlines but in a collaborative positive business relationship in which a sense of humour would be highly desirable
Remuneration:
It is anticipated this will be hourly paid work initially. The project has tight deadlines and therefore performance related uplift on the hourly rate could be discussed. A long term working relationship could be desirable for the supplier with similar values.
