Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Hello,
My name is Julian, I'm the director of Lemonaid Beverages Ltd. We're a producer of a range of organic fair-trade soft-drinks from Germany, about to launch our drinks in the UK next year.
We're a pretty small company and give all our profits to charity. Most of our work hands-on and done by ourselves but I thought that the translation of our product labels should be critically reviewed by a native English professional. That's why I'm writing you.
What needs to be done at the moment is to have a look at our current translation of the labels. I attached the doc file to this message. It's 7 labels and 730 words in total (many parts are repetitive, as well). The translation was done by a friend of us who might not be too familiar with the tone that's expected and right for our audience group here in the UK. Difficult for me to judge this.
Just to give you a brief idea of what we're doing and what our products are like, I also attached two brochures with a bit of information about us. We will be selling these drinks mostly to coffee-shops, bars, restaurants, health-food stores, etc. so our audience will be mainly in the range of 20-45 yrs, into sleek design, sustainability, etc. Our product names "Lemonaid" and "ChariTea" are a play of words themselves so I'd love to have a similarly funny/edgy/cool tone in our communication. Not too stiff in general. Also and in particular on the labels. Think of the communication of PRET, Innocence smoothies, etc.
If you think that what we currently have fits that expectation: Great. If you think there's a bit of tweaking necessary here and there: Great, too. And if you think we're completely on the wrong track: Please let us know this as well.
A proofread of the labels at the end would be required, as well.
Could you please give me an idea how much you would charge for this job and how long you think it would take? If we're happy with your work, there's the prospect of working together in the future as well, since we'll need a lot more copywriting to be done for our brochures, advertising material and such.
Thanks and best regards,
Julian
