Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am currently in the process of starting a confectionery company and I require someone do undertake some desk and field research on the confectionery market. I will provide a list of retailers that stock confectionery so that you may research some of the customers that are currently buying, minimum I would say would be 50 people. I will also provide you with a list of confectionery brands that I require some in depth desk and telephone research on. I have a list of questions that need answering for my business plan so if that can be undertaken then this would really help me as I am designing my product and deciding on the final cost. Please find a list of some questions that need answering, the field research would be required In London, with a possibility of some extra research at some other time in Birmingham, Manchester and maybe Edinburgh.
1. What factors would you say are important in the customer’s decision to buy or not buy my product? Can you provide more information on my current target customers, what influences them? Characteristics, and benefits they are looking for? How often they usually will buy? How many they will buy? What is the maximum they will be willing to pay?
2. List and briefly describe the companies with whom I will be competing? (Companies in Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, House of Fraser and John Lewis)
3. Analyse their size, profitability and operating methods. What would be the best method of taking some of this market share from them?
4. what are there relative strengths and weaknesses compared both with each other and potentially with my business? Their future plans for growth and innovation
5. what branding or extra benefits or features do you think that could be added to make my product more successful and stand out in the market?
6. What other customer insights can you provide so that the branding and packaging can be more suitable.
7. What are the industry margins? P/e? Gross margins that can be achieved?
