Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are looking for writers to write short (200-500) summary news articles on the latest business and finance events. You should probably be UK resident as this will be regular, daily work, mainly between 7-9 am UK time (we are also considering the same for the Australian and Canadian market openings so people based in these locations could also bid).
The articles will be based on company press releases. We are looking for quick efficient writers able to decipher the key points from a press releases, and summarise them in simple language, free of typos, spelling and grammatical errors. The language should be informative and easy to read. You must not use offensive or informal language, or inappropriate comments.
You will need to have training in business or finance journalism as some of the press releases will be quite technical. The summary should also give some context for the press release (ie. what does it mean and what are the implications?), based on the company website or other sources. You may need to source a photo to accompany the release, the cost of which we will cover.
As this is high volume work, we are looking for people happy to work hard and keen to build an ongoing relationship for regular work. We are looking for bids per block of, say, 25 news summaries, assuming 300 words per summary, so you will be paid based on your output.
If you do a great job on the initial work, there is potential for more work longer-term. We are looking to establish some relationships with decent writers on an ongoing basis.
This work can be done remotely via email etc but you need to be extremely reliable.
Requirements:
- Have written Blogs/Articles/Press Releases for a range of industries
- Have good knowledge about the above industries
- Have a commercially-minded approach and be knowledgeable about business, finance and investing
- Be excellent in analysing and interpreting data and financial statistics
- Have excellent written and communication skills
- Be reliable, organised, confident, articulate, determined, dedicated, hardworking and passionate
- Enjoy working under pressure
If you bid, please explain why you have the above characteristics, how long you think each summary would take you, what your current status is and how you would manage this project with the other demands on your time.
Thanks.
