The client:
- A small professional services business (marketing and public relations) turning over £250,000
- One director, two further full-time employees and a network of freelancers
- Based in flexible office share accommodation
- Approximately 12 clients charged on the basis of time plus materials
The work
- Input financial transactions in QuickBooks or similar software
- Assign items to appropriate accounts
- Bank statement reconciliation
- Accounts receivable (Invoicing)
- Credit control
- Payroll management
- Set up payments to suppliers and staff
- VAT – management and setting up of payments
- Corporation tax – management and setting up of payments
- Monthly financial statement within 2 weeks of month end including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, budget vs actual
Expected time commitment up to one day per week, some in site and some remote working.

Would you consider the job to be fully remote? I am based in Norfolk and would be unable to be on-site.
Jon B.02 Mar 2018Hi. In the longer term i think the job could be fully remote, with meetings by Skype etc..
But, since this is a new function there will be some work getting to know the business and the proprietor at the outset that I think will need to be done in person. -
How often would I need to be on site? Most of this looks like it can be done remote with maybe quarterly meetings with management to discuss budgets and reports.
Jon B.02 Mar 2018I think one a month on site would be about right. There'll be a need for monthly rather than quarterly reporting.
