Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are an established, full service market research agency based in the North east of England.
Our main client is a major fmcg brand owner. We have a strong relationship with them and are involved through several stages of their product development work for a number of their household brands.
Our primary skills and years of experience developed with this client lie in product testing; hall tests and in-home tests which are use to gauge consumer reaction to new products, packaging, marketing communications etc. We are however fully capable of conducting most forms of primary consumer market research.
Quite simply we are looking to develop a long term relationship with someone to help us to sell our market research services to new clients, principally within the UK. We believe we have a viable product and in particular a high degree of expertise in product testing, and can offer a quality research service at extremely competitive prices.
Based on our perceived expertise we believe product related research / fmcg clients would be a good fit, but as already stated we feel we can do other things equally as well.
We are a Market Research Society Company Partner, ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and have an extensive portfolio of clients, testimonials and case studies.
Although much of our work is carried out in the North East region we have the capability to operate anywhere in the UK.
Current Sales Issues
Because we are a small team our sales function is currently the remit of our Research Manager, and the prospecting for new work tends to take a backseat to any project work. As a result there is no continuity of effort.
Our current new clients tend to conduct research to solve a particular problem, and once solved do not have the need for additional research. Although they appear to be pleased with the results we deliver, repeat business is not likely to be a regular occurrence.
In our experience it is impossible to persuade someone to actually do research if they arent already considering it our sales efforts therefore tend in nature to be somewhat reactive.
We lack contacts and have difficulty penetrating large organisations the work may suit someone with extensive contacts with organisations who have a strong customer focus.
In general if we can get a face to face meeting with any client who has an interest in research we usually stand a very good chance of converting the opportunity into business. Getting the initial contact/meeting appears to be the main issue.
The main objective in seeking outside, professional sales assistance would be to identify and generate contacts, open doors and give us the chance to tender for new work.
We do not have any fixed ideas in terms of how this should be approached, but are particularly interested in any one with a demonstrable track record of selling B2B services, and as stated earlier are looking to devlop a long term, mutually beneficial relationship.
Current Consumer Research Product Offer
- hall tests
- in home tests
- focus groups
- in-depth interviews
- street / exit interviews
- telephone surveys
- postal surveys
- e-mail / web based surveys
- online / panel surveys (currently subcontracted via GMI)
- in-store surveys
- traffic counts
- staff surveys
