Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are transferring our website (currently uses an unsupported proprietary program) to an aspdotnetstorefront program. We have already purchased the aspdotnetstorefront software and installed it.
We find that we do not have the immediate expertise to get started.
We need someone to help us install and customize the skin with our own headers and color etc. (Images wil be provided after we see what the parameters are that the program will handle) We'd like an explanation of how to change it further ourselves as we progress together.
Need help to alter some easy heirarchies such as how the menu appears on the left side of the pages (ie: we want to display the Categories menu first, the Manufacturer menu second etc)
We want to change the URL naming criteria. We want it to appear as category/sub-category/sub-sub-category/product.htm (Unless you have some google-related reason we should not do this)
The changes or set-up needed will be minor for experienced designers. At this time, no source code changes will be needed, although a few smaller XML changes will help us customize the product pages as we go along.
I'm sure there will be many more ongoing changes as we become familiar with the program and the potential it offers.
On-going, we'd like some explanations of how changes are made that will enable us to become more independent using and changing the program ourselves (not source code) as we go along. Our staff has very BASIC HTML knowledge and can read some BASIC css. No XML expertise. Certainly no source code type of expertise.
At this time, we intend to add products using or own data entry people. That could change depending on the progress made with your help)
This is certainly not an exhaustive list of our needs. We have had the program installed for only 2-3 days and have no idea of the possible needs coming up.
The bid assumes the basic start-up needs but is not designed for the on-going work which would extend the contract as the needs arrise.
Yours Sincerely,
jackie
