Description
Experience Level: Expert
Industry: Technology
Design details: We have a 3D scan of a medical prosthetic of male human buttocks, which will be the basis for a mould to be machined which will be used to produce further prosthetics. The scan has some damage, including a ragged edge around the perimeter, part of the thigh missing from one leg, and missing geometry where the two thighs meet. We need to repair the model, then subtract the model from a block to produce a mould which will be machined. We also need to add four blind holes to the mould block to provide location features - the location, size and depth of these holes will be specified.
We've begun this process ourselves but don't have the expertise to do this adequately. In particular in our attempt, we've lost the 'orange peel'-like texture of the skin where we've repaired the model, and have discontinuities between the original scan and our added surfaces. However I've included pictures of the work that's been done to show what we want to achieve.
We can supply photos of the original prosthesis to aid in recreating the missing geometry.
Ideas for the visual style: In keeping with original scan
Preferred colors: Not concerned with colouration
Extra notes:

Hi Tom, how much of the scan is missing bits?.. Is it as extensive as what you have in the attachment?
Regards
George -
hi,
what about recreating the mesh, it is usually easier to remake it with nice clean mesh then trying to fix a bad scan , especially if there are missing parts, plus the model is pretty simple to recreate? -
hi, how much time do you have for this? what format is needed at the end?
