Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
We are in need of an experienced 3D modeller/animator to complete a complex animation of a machine. The animation will require an 'exploded view' of an existing CAD model (currently in STEP file, but work has begun on texturing in Maya). You will be required to complete texturing on the materials and surfaces of the components, along with grouping various sections of components to animate, to produce a high end finished animation. The finished files we require are short 5-10 second animations showing various angles as the components come together to form the full machine - all up about 45-60 seconds of total animation. A good example is this video:

We will supply you with the completed CAD model which has been imported into Maya as some work has been started on texturing and creating polygons. Here is another short video that shows a demonstration of the 'Inventor' tool in Autodesk - this is very much how we want the elements of the machine to come together:

We will also supply you with a number of high quality photographs of the machine from different angles. However, this only shows all the exteriors of the machine, there are many other components inside the machine that need to be animated in this exploded view and you will need to make a judgement call on best textures to use (it should all be fairly standard metal finishes etc).
We have also filmed the machine in action and can provide you with various video clips to show the full working model. The 3D animation elements will be edited together with this video footage to produce a 90 second promotional video.
This project is highly confidential in nature and the winning animator will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement before any elements and work is started.
Turnaround time is fairly tight so would be good to get an estimate from you on duration to complete the project so we can notify our clients.
Please provide portfolio examples of similar work you may have completed in the past - in particular 3D machine/product modelling/animation and ideally examples of an exploded view animation.

How many parts are there in this machine? I'm using Blender3D, do you care what software is used? What is your deadline?

Hi,
Is this job still available?
Thanks
