What you get with this Offer
Calculating tidal heights are a necessary skill for any competent yachtsman or woman.
Knowing how to calculate tidal heights for standard ports (i.e. Southampton, Dover, Plymouth) and understanding the theory behind secondary port differences (i.e. Hamble, Lymington, etc) is part of the RYA Day Skipper Theory syllabus. The ability to calculate secondary port differences is a critical requirement of the RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster syllabus.
Not understanding this process will, eventually, result in either disaster or, at the very least, leave you and your crew on the mud whilst the pub closes and your fellow yachties scoff at your incompetence.
Many students get hung up on the methodology, especially students studying by correspondence course. There is no need. It is straightforward and easily grasped but, like most things in life, it's only simple once you know how!
PLEASE NOTE: I regularly teach RYA sailing courses for several RYA accredited schools in the UK and abroad. I am a RYA qualified, commercially endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore and Cruising Instructor. I am NOT a RYA Sailing School and do NOT offer course completion certificates. I am an experienced RYA qualified sailing instructor offering a tutorial service at a reasonable price.
