I have been an avid reader since childhood and a critic in college. With a keen eye for errors, I used to point out the lecturer’s grammar and spelling errors, which they detested.
I owed this assertiveness to my convent education, which emphasised on spellings, grammar and punctuations.
I went on to study Psychology at University and had enrolled for a Master’s Degree in the subject before family crisis pulled me out.
Work Experience
I worked as a Personal Assistant/Secretary for over 20 years and possess strong administrative and organisational skills. I combine energy and enthusiasm with attention to detail and am able to prioritise and multi-task effectively and efficiently.
During my entire career I have regularly dealt with issues of sensitive and confidential nature, therefore maintaining confidentiality and working in a professional manner has become second to nature.
While working full time, I managed to help the local borough by volunteering as a member of the Education Appeal and Fostering Panels, as well as Parent Governor at my children’s schools. This earned me an outstanding citizen award in April 2006
I was forced to resign to become a full time carer, With the eagerness to help I returned to community work and founded a Women’s group in my neighbourhood, which focused on empowering women from the South East Asian background, who did not speak English as their first language.
I am currently a member of the Patient Participation Group within my local GP’s surgery as well as on the management team of a local charity.
I would now describe my profession as a life coach, event organiser, informal counsellor and consultant, apart from being a Secretary.
