Are you struggling to perform statistical analysis for your dataset - perhaps the data is complex, you are not sure what test is appropriate, or how to use it? Start a conversation with me where we can talk about your data, the question you want it to answer, and find the most reliable statistical approach. This is geared towards hypothesis testing, where you have a question to answer and want to use a statistical test to determine whether to accept your hypothesis. As a PhD biologist having studied statistics, I have hands-on experience in various complex datasets and statistical tests. We will determine the best test for your research and if needed, I can provide instructions on how to implement, visualise, and report the test for your dataset using R, Excel, SAS, or Minitab, and optionally, check your final results/report and provide feedback. This process will include an up to one hour call to discuss your project, but can be message-based if you prefer, and a written summary of my suggestions. There are a lot of resources online giving instructions on how to do various tests, but choosing the most accurate one for complex projects can be difficult and requires practice, expertise, and judgement. You have the option to add a second consult of the same project at a lower price, if needing more guidance. What the Freelancer needs to start the work
Please be ready to share:
- The goal of your project/analysis, preferably in the form of a yes/no hypothesis but we can discuss this together if needed
- Detailed methods or protocols you used for obtaining the data
- Dataset, and if it requires any data clean-up or organisation you already know of, please do this ahead of time so that it is ready to analyse
- You should try to understand the data structure as much as possible, but we will go over this together; such as, how many relevant variables there are, whether these are continuous/categorical/binary variables, and what the distribution is like
- If you have a preferred analysis software, let me know ahead of time
I prefer to look over the data to ensure any advice is relevant. I offer confidentiality, but you are welcome to disguise or retain some data if you want, as long as you understand that if the data structure varies greatly from my understanding then my advice becomes less relevant.
