What is a freelance copywriter?

A copywriter produces written copy, predominantly for business purposes and for marketing efforts. This can include website content and copy, blog and article writing, or social media content creation. It also may include brochure copy and creating text for other marketing and brand literature, press releases, advert copy, scripts, and much more. Copywriters usually have a high level of education with language, marketing, or business qualifications and, or, have a wealth of experience in their profession. Copywriters today often have extensive SEO, marketing, social media, internet, sales or business knowledge.

What does a copywriter do?

A copywriter will create well-written, grammatically correct, accurate and engaging copy for business, marketing, and other purposes. A freelance copywriter is usually available on a per project basis and will take on either one-off tasks or regular copy production duties. They often work on a per project, per word or per hour rate. A copywriter will work from your brief and use their own knowledge and research to produce excellent copy for your business. Some copywriters will specialise in one or a number of niche areas that fit their expertise. Copywriters can be found with experience in producing copy for any industry and any purpose. Many copywriters will have experience in writing for SEO and in producing sales copy.
