This project meant a lot to me on a personal basis and so I wanted to make sure that I chose the right person. When I pitched the idea of a surprise video for my wife's 30th birthday, I was inundated with great proposals, but Freddie stood out both because of his portfolio, but also how personal his approach and initial contact was. Within a few minutes, I knew that I had the right person and that he had understood how important this project was to me. Freddie goes above and beyond, from first contact all the way to final delivery: he agreed to meet in person at my office to discuss the project and present his vision based on what I had explained to him - he listened intently, asked intelligent questions and he just got it. On the day of filming itself, Freddie arrived early, made everyone feel welcome and captured what he needed in the time we were together. To make his life more difficult, my wife has a lot of family and important friends who either could not make filming or live abroad, and so, I asked them to record messages on their phones and send it to me, so that Fred could add them to the video. We had videos coming from Belgium, Iraq, USA, Philippines, Australia, Holland and Uganda - in total, Freddie had to juggle over 40 videos on top of the footage we filmed. My priority was 3-fold: 1) to capture and show how much my wife means to her loved ones, 2) to have it presented in a very professional and warm way, and 3) to ensure everyone who sent in a video or attended filming was featured in some part on the video. Freddie hit the target on all 3 criteria. Throughout the process, he was always friendly, patient and an absolute pleasure to work with. I had initially planned to show the video to my wife a few days before her birthday, as I had booked a private dining experience for us and our daughter, but we encountered some technical issues when trying to transfer the video onto a USB. I will forever be grateful for the fact that it was clear that it was as important for Freddie that the video be delivered on time as it was for me - he offered to come and hand-deliver it himself, to make sure it was as planned. In the end, it wasn't to be - but actually, this was a blessing in disguise as it gave us 2 more days to ensure it was perfect and, yesterday, 30 minutes before new year (my wife is a new year baby), with lots of friends and family present, we surprised her with the video. She laughed and cried throughout - which is a testament to the outstanding video that Freddie put together. I would recommend him highly and wish him nothing but success for the future - a genuine gentleman and brilliant at his art.
