Basingstoke, GBI've been debating whether to leave a review, and sadly I have no option but to do so.
I am quite proficient with social media and I was hoping to increase sales by employing Vanessa and her team, opting for her most expensive package.
Within the first week we ran a sales promotion for one of my products. Vanessa's team spent some time producing beautiful artwork for the promotion after I provided them with the relevant image from my product offerings. Upon receipt of the artwork, it took another two days to explain to the account manager dealing with me that I was gravely dissatisfied with the artwork as they USED SOMEONE ELSE's IMAGE. Surely, this should not be explained to a marketing company?!
Be that as it may, for £ 415 a month I was expecting much more. Within the first 3.5 weeks my social media post reach dropped by over 50 %. With a fan base on facebook of around 26, 000, I was able to maintain a post reach of 40,000 as this is my highest fan base and I advised them to focus on that. At one stage my post reach was less than 13,000. My sales were much less than it was a year ago: Vanessa took the opportunity to blame Brexit for the drop in sales. By then, my continued requests for information from Vanessa and her team has left us all frustrated, prompting me to take back control of my marketing even after I repeatedly advised them that the content they chose to share does not appeal to my fan and customer base. At some stage the relationship deteriorated significantly to the point of hostility and to save myself aggravation, I decided to remove myself from the toxic environment.
After taking back control, my sales more than doubled in one week compared with over 3 weeks' work done by the marketing company. Similarly, social media post reach was back up to over 150 % of fan base which is what it was before they were employed.
Sadly, I have been locked into another month's worth of work at £ 420 with no tangible benefit whatsoever and a feeling of being taken advantage of.
Good luck Vanessa in your endeavours. I have no doubt you will continue to grow and be successful in what you do. Sadly, for us, it was not a workable or beneficial relationship.Social Buzzing
Hi Vickie, thank you very much for your feedback. You contacted us to increase your sales to your website. The content you had previously posted were funny meme's and whilst reach is always high with these posts they do not lead to sales which was the forefront of your campaign with us. The content we used focused on linking back to your website and as a result we saw your website traffic increase dramatically. I am pleased you liked the art work we designed and our competition did do very well. Of course you need to give us time to really start to increase sales, this isn't going to happen in the first 3 weeks and the client's expectations were not realistic. Within the first day we had several calls on why sales haven't increased and that the campaign was clearly not working! In regard to post reach we advised you not to post so many times as we were already managing the content, posting 8 - 10 times a day on Facebook is not advisable and will impact on your reach. It's always difficult to manage expectations, social media is not a miracle worker but the results we achieved were impressive. We would advise potential customers to have a look at our feedback for managing social media. We have worked with over 10,000 individuals I'd be wary about taking the word of one person as gospel. Unfortunately in life you will never make everyone happy in business, we tried our best to keep up with the 40 whatsapp messages each day and hit such ambitious targets. We wish you the best Vickie but please next time give your marketing company more than a day to bring in sales! If you had only given us more time you would see the benefits of our work that all the other reviews talk about here! Kind regards Vanessa.
