    • Emulated a comprehensive annual training plan that was in alignment with the organization’s objectives

    Key Achievements :
    ï‚§ Developed a one year executive training program for a batch of 25 Graduate Executive Trainees.
    • Developed a three day Orientation Program’ for all new entrants to the Airline and initiated conducting the same by successfully running it eight times within a time frame of eight months.
    • Prepared the Annual Training Catalogue for the Training Dept. in two consecutive years viz. 2000/2001 and 2001/2002.
    • Successfully conducted an open competitive written test throughout the Airline in view of selecting the Airline’s nominees for a few training scholarships granted by the International Airline Training Fund (IATF) in 2001. This test consisted of three papers viz. IQ, English Language and General Knowledge. Out of about 750 employees who sat the written test, the 20 top scorers were interviewed and five were nominated to IATF. Three out of these five had been accepted by IATF for the scholarships.
    • Set up & manned SriLankan Airlines’ stall at a careers fair’ held at the University of Kelaniya in 2001.
    • Commenced an eighteen months’ Job Orientation Training Program for unemployed graduates in 2001 for the first time in the history of the Airline.
    The 32 graduates registered with Taruna Aruna Institute were selected for this purpose through interviews and were given classroom training in English Language, IT , Service Excellence, Japanese Five Ss Concept, Telephone Techniques & Mannerisms etc, and were deployed for on-the-job training in relevant departments according to each individual’s area of study, talent and preference.

    • Successfully organized workshops on Outward Bound Training
    in order to inculcate a sense of cooperation and team work among staff

    • Commenced a Speech Crafters’ Training Program for SriLankan Airlines’ staff, with the assistance of Sampath Bank Toastmasters’ Club.
