York, GBThis is the second time we used Ramon to translate a document from Dutch to English. It's the second time that he underestimated the scope of the work required. This time, he underestimated a document of 11,000 words as 5400 words. This, and other personal issues meant that the work was not done in the timeframe he initially said. Fortunately, we did not run into problems by him being late in delivering the translation.
On the flip side, his translations are excellent. We can't say enough good things about the quality of his work.
Our concern is just his ability to estimate the size of the job and how long he would take to do it.

Yes, Dave is correct - I misjudged the word count twice (I must always thorougly check PDF's, as copy-paste sometimes throws things off!) which, in combination with some personal matters, indeed caused me to delay the project. Being in Old Dutch (Nederduits), it was also the most difficult translation project I have undertaken to this date. An unfortunate combination of factors. This underestimation will not happen again.
