London, GBJonathan did great work with the design and used he own initiative to give me something I didn't quite asked for but which proved to be exactly what i wanted. He seems to be a very talented designers and someone that uses his initiative. I expect to be doing additional work with Jonathan shortly. Marlon Palmer

Gelterkinden, CHI can't actively recommend Jonathan but I also won't give him a bad star rating, i will let others decide by themselves and provide Neutral feedback, however I will report how the job went for others to consider, perhaps should've trusted some of the other bad reviews a bit more, however i'll explain my reasons below. My review is based on what Jonathan claims he is, "Senior Digital Design consultant from the UK with over 9 years of commercial experience". Had he claimed to be a Junior designer the feedback would be different.
Although we have skilled in-house people we sometimes open small jobs for freelancers to test them and develop further partnerships, this was such a case.
Jonathan started by claiming the job description didn't mention we wanted the banners in multiple sizes which, as can be seen from the job description we even had the caution to include an image describing all sizes needed (15 sizes, not redesigns), he then went to ask for a much higher amount to complete the same job. At that point we should've stopped the job there however naively, and as he claimed to be such a good "Senior designer with references from big companies", decided to let him do less work (3 sizes) for more (as he charged for 2 sizes as, according to him, he thought it was only 1). We agreed to this afterwards when we could've canceled the job so it's not all his fault, just pointing it out so others understand he didn't even read the job description with attention.
We then went ahead and had Jonathan design 3 pieces of work.
- He did a good job on the first piece (banners)
- The second piece (Seals) were horribly pixelated, the content was pretty much unreadable and in terms of design just plain useless, after requesting a redesign we showed him another example.
He went ahead and submitted another version which again was completely useless, pixelated, colours didn't match , etc... (Props on the fact that he did deliver 10 versions (bear in mind by version he understands changing the background color and the icon which the chosen criteria was poor. 10 useless versions are no good)). At this point we gave up on him since we understood the lack of creativity and the quality of work delivered and ended up designing them ourselves.
- On the third piece Jonathan did also a good job
As a summary don't expect Jonathan to use his creativity much (as also mentioned in another previous review), to deliver the sort of quality he shows you on his previous work or even any sort of "Senior Digital Designer" level work as you'll clearly won't get that. You'll get something "Junior" level which seems just thrown in there to finish the job quickly and get paid.
Not all were bad things, as mentioned Jonathan also delivered some OK work on the first and Third piece and provided the used fonts and files separated by folders.
I believe in anything one does one should aim to deliver quality, if you think the budget is too low or doesn't suit what you want then don't even bid on a job, and if you and accept the job, (specially after the client raised his budget for you) then deliver your best!
As a client we ended up paying Jonathan since first of all we are fair and one of the pieces was actually what we intended even though the others ere "OK" and "Rubbish" Levels.
We wish Jonathan all the best but he still needs to enhance his skills alot more before he can call himself a Senior Professional designer... But then again anyone who draws a line in paint calls themselves a designer these days.Jonathan L.
Very harsh review considering I bent over backwards to accommodate you needless changes and didn't once question your rash responses this review sums it up really a rude person who expects something for nothing.
