    Self taught SEO consultant, I have been performing SEO for 9 years and only perform SEO that is whitehat and most influences Google. I have topped Google for local, UK and international websites for a diverse range of businesses, including one of the most competitive, online gambling. Often on smaller budgets than the competition and always following Google's guidelines and a completely white hat approach.

    Work Experience Summary: Zinc Digital SEO Manager (September 2008 – present)

    Employed as the SEO at this small local web design company.

    I work as part of a small team with project managers to ensure the client receives regular updates and the exact services they anticipated.

    Job Role:
    To perform all of the tasks below for Zinc Digital and all of their SEO clients:

    On-Going Site Recommendations - This includes everything from minor webpage changes based upon reviewing the website's statistics on Google Analytics. Aswell as suggestions for new features that will improve Google rankings, the time users spent on the site and the conversion rate.
    Link Research - Perform extensive topical searches to extract the most influential websites that the industry can obtain a link from.

    On-Going Competitor Research - Looking at every aspect of how and why the highest ranking competitors are top of Google. What website features they have which outperform, what partnerships and topical links they have acquired that the website has not and ultimately determining how to emulate and exceed them in terms of content, service and Google rankings

    Topical Directory Submissions - Source all the industry's most influential and highest ranked directories within Google and submitted a website's details to them. These are quality directories and not generic free ones.

    Social Bookmarking - Submit the highest quality webpage content to the most relevant social bookmarking websites in order to expose their services to a social audience.

    Manual Link Partnering - Will find suitable websites to reciprocate links, which offers the joint benefit of referral traffic and increased Google rankings.

    .Edu or .Org Links - Links with these educational or organisation websites in are given significant weight by Google, as they are often highly trusted websites with quality topical websites linking to them in numbers. With this in-mind I attempt to establish a link relationship with these sites when appropriate.

    Online Article & Press Release Strategy - Establish what keyword phrases are the best performing ones via Google Analytics and then suggest articles and press releases based around these terms.

    Content Growth - Will suggest areas that would benefit from new content in-order to attract new traffic sources and attain new topical Google rankings.

    Online Article & Press Release Syndication - Any articles or press releases that the client is willing to syndicate out from their website, these will be submitted to all the topical websites that will accept them.

    Online Partnerships & Links - Will contact previously sourced topical websites and submit the website's details to them.

    On-Going Keyword Research - Take advantage of various keyword tools, although will mainly look at the website's own statistics in Google Analytics to continually assess what short and long-tail keywords need targeting and will benefit most from improved Google rankings.

    Landing Page Recommendations - Highlight any apparent weaknesses within the website that are having a negative effect on the conversion rate. Each of these weaknesses will then be addressed based upon recommendations.

    On-Going Google Analytics Assessment - Mine through all a website's statistical data to pick out what keywords are and are not performing, why users are and are not staying on the website, where referral traffic is coming from and much more on a monthly basis.

    Paid Topical Links - Source all the most relevant and highly ranked websites within Google that offer ethical paid link arrangements and contact them to establish a link.

    Video Submissions - Syndicate a website's video content to suitable video websites in-order to attract a new customer-base and improve online identity.

    Link Bait – Establish fresh ways for the client to attract topical links and be seen as an expert in the industry.

    Social Networking – Encourage the client to interact with their customer-base on topical forums and popular social networks, this way the company is seen as approachable and by offering advice and answering questions, as an industry expert.

    Achievements:
    Ranked The Qube top of Google and the other leading search engines for all it's primary keywords, substantially increasing traffic and enquiries.

    Taught Zinc Digital the value of quality white hat SEO and the need to start offering it as a service in-order to compliment their web design.

    GG.com Ltd SEO Manager (April 2005 - March 2009)

    While working for GG.com I mainly operated from home and kept in contact with the office via semi regular emails or online messaging services.

    GG.com refused to let me perform any traditional SEO tasks on the website, or pay for any link building, so I only had free link building and other off page optimisation available to me.

    Job Role:
    Daily input of new content and data via GG.com's administration system.

    Created and updated their web directory
    (also, all of the same SEO tasks mentioned above for Zinc Digital)

    Achievements:
    Helped GG.com obtain top first page rankings on Google and the other leading search engines for many highly lucrative search terms ahead of mammoth competitors who possessed far superior budgets and resources than I had at my disposal.

      Not the best of starts communication wise, we are still yet to be given a huge amount of advice our end on things to work on and where to improve. Hopefully the next stage of work there will be a turn around in the level of communication prior to an invoice being raised.
