    I have an International working career and exposure to various technologies for 5years as a Data Analyst with various technical skills notably in macro development with VBA, Pivot Tables, Lookups, Charts/Graphs and formulas worked full time for International firms like Bank of America and Famous New paper publishers ( Daily Mail, The mail on Sunday, Evening Standard, London Metro, Irish Mail on Sunday ) Harmsworth Quays - London

    I have also designed websites using Dreamweaver and Flash as a freelancer .
    Am familiar with HTML, Flash cs3, Dreamweaver cs3 and Photoshop 7

    Summary: Harmsworth Quays - London
    Excel VBA Developer for the Finance Department

    Harmsworth Quays is a print and distribution centre of five major newspapers- Daily Mail, The mail on Sunday, Evening Standard, London Metro, Irish Mail on Sunday and the advertising publication Loot.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    1 My responsibilities include capturing and transferring the data into Excel spreadsheets, from there to an Access database reporting key performance indicators. Analysis is also undertaken to look for any trends or specific issues and if found this is escalated to the respective Manager for action.
    2 Designing of Budget/Forecast model templates using Excel macros to import them into the Access database and other internal applications of the company.
    3 Tracking Ink and Plates information from the Suppliers on a weekly basis in Access database and also to show a big picture of Variance analysis with graphs over a period of time between budgeted and the actual consumption figures.
    4 HQP is committed to achieving its objectives, purposes and values in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner as a part of this it conducts Corporate Social Responsibility Survey annually to reduce consumption of elements like Water, Gas and Electricity. As the owner of this project my responsibilities includes the following
    • Liaising with the suppliers to gather the consumption figures for last five years for Electricity, Water and Gas from various print sites and compare it against the invoices sent to HQP.
    • Refining the data using Excel Macros.
    • Calculate the Newsprint efficiency considering waste allowance for the various print sites of HQP
    • Finally showing the pictorial representation of these figures for last five years and present it to the management for review.

    Bank of America - Senior Data Analyst

    Bank of America is one of the world's largest financial institutions, serving individual consumers, small and middle market businesses and large corporations with a full range of banking, investing, asset management and other financial and risk-management products and services.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    Supported Analytical Research Modelling team as a Senior Data Analyst and given the responsibility of mentoring and training of 2 associates.

    1 Processing large volumes of ITS Strategic partners Employee/Project data using Data mining techniques and Business intelligence tools like spreadsheet, MS Access, SQL for collection, integration, analysis and presentation of business information.
    2 Representing the Executive information as Dashboards which enables to capture and report specific data points from each department within the organization thus providing a snapshot of performance.
    3 Leading a weekly conference with a team of global program managers and business owners in order to recommend and deliver commercial and operational policy solutions, and process improvement.
    4 Analyzed activity and project delivery records to provide recommendations to improve quality throughout the project lifecycle.
    5 Creating framework for data modelling and also responsible for the design, production and analysis of weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicator reporting packs for management review.
    6 Review application design and enhance performance, including: indexing, searches, efficiency of active links, filters and escalations.
    7 Verify the billing hours per project/contractor raised by the strategic partners for the work rendered to the Bank.
    8 Manage solicitation, analysis & reporting of Strategic Partner deliverables to the management.
    9 Reviewing project activities for compliance with the procedures and standards.
    10 Capturing and documentation of business requirements for system development.
    11 Managing data security, software and license control and also keeping data integrity to the highest quality I was driving and managing performance indicators and reports to increase profitability and turnover.
    12 Providing remote or on-site support.
    13 Documentation relating to faults / resolutions and security events of the stakeholders.
    14 Escalation of problems and issues to the management team when appropriate.
    15 Driving improvements in global performance and revenues via review calls with the country operational teams.
    16 Providing the team with data and technical expertise encouraging best practice and governance. Allocation of work to the team based on the volumes assigned per day.
    17 Developing, coaching and mentoring new team members.

    Accomplishments:

    • Save time over running multiple reports using macros in Excel.
    • Streamlined and automated report creation processes • increasing analyst
    efficiency by 40% which released them to have greater input into the business
    decision making process, and also reduced the need to hire more staff; so saving
    on manpower costs.
    • Handled six sigma projects which resulted in saving on manpower costs.


    Project Name: GMO-Option Expiry

    Problem Statement: - At present the team reviews all the business notice days in a Bermudan trade manually. The time taken to manually check the Bermudan option dates given in the trade confirmation against Advantage is highly time consuming and is error prone. The time taken to check the trade in this case can be as high as 120 mins per trade.

    Proposed Solution - Develop an automated way of checking to avoid any possible errors that could happen due to manual checking and at the same time aimed at reducing the processing time. The solution has been developed using a Macro in Microsoft Excel (an application) to check notice dates for London, New York, Frankfurt and Target calendars/ Holidays.

    Benefits of the Solution -
    1. Improvement in Accuracy to 100% in this processing step
    2. Reduce time to 5 mins to check all the dates irrespective of the number of dates in a trade.
    3. Scope can also be enlarged to include holiday lists for other financial centers without affecting the present lists.
    4. Its use can be extended to trades with Mutual Early termination
    5. This can also be used for Bermudan trades with calendar notice dates.


    Project Name: GDFX-RATES CHASING

    Problem Statement: - At present the team filters the data manually based on the request criteria and paste the data in another excel file saves it on the shared drive and finally acknowledge the completion of work to the onshore team in London.

    Proposed Solution:-Auto filtering of data based on the request criteria into a new tab in excel using macros and finally saves the on the shared drive and acknowledges with an automated email.

    Benefits of the Solution -
    1. Improvement in Accuracy to 100% in this processing step
    2. Reduce time to 10 minutes to check the data criteria irrespective of the data volume.
