Continuation of a Wordpress + Gravity forms development
BACKGROUND We have unfortunately found ourselves in a difficult situation with a previous Upwork developer that has let us down mid-way through a Wordpress + Gravity forms project. The developer had completed phase 1 of the project successfully and started on phase 2 back in September 2023. Sadly, their communication became progressively worse and they stopped responding altogether at the end of December 2023. After a number of warnings, we cancelled the project at the start of January having received no further communication or updates. Having overseen a number of web dev projects over the years, I do appreciate the complexities of taking over someone else's half-finished work and will do my best here to explain what has happened so far, and what is required to complete the work: SUMMARY We run marketstallhire.co.uk which is an event equipment rental business. With the help of the previous developer, we set up a form which will be used for capturing customer data at the point they wish to proceed with a rental booking. You can see the form here: https://www.marketstallhire.co.uk/test/ PHASE 1 (NOW COMPLETE) Phase 1 of the development (now complete) included providing an on-screen quotation and estimated delivery and collection dates based on variables which are selected on page 1 of the form. Page 2 of the form is where delivery, collection and invoice addresses are entered along with other contact information. Page 3 of the form calculates a few things such as weight of shipment and number of pallets/cages required for shipping and displays these on screen. It also includes a series of checkboxes that must be selected to ensure the hirer has read and understands our terms and conditions. This work was completed successfully and you should be able to test the form using the link above. PHASE 2 Phase 2 is unfortunately where things have gone wrong. It appeared that the developer was coming up against a lot of unexpected issues and didn’t know how to resolve them. The developer seemed to struggle with implementing this. Looking at our Wordpress admin, it looks like their half-finished solution uses a Wordpress plugin called "Members" to handle user accounts. The developer had originally quoted 10 hours to complete the work back in early September. They eventually uploaded their work towards the end of October. At the end of December the developer confirmed they had uploaded a number of changes to the live site. Having tested their latest updates, it is apparent that almost all the issues raised in the feedback remain present. As far as I can tell, the only change the developer seems to have made is to attempt to redesign the user account area so it is in keeping with the rest of the site design. The implementation of this is quite poor, however, and not in keeping with the wireframes provided to them. None of the other issues raised in the feedback appear to have been addressed. It seems like integrating the user account area into our Wordpress theme was a major stumbling block and the developer never progressed to resolving the other issues. This brings us up to where things now stand. We need a developer to take over phase 2 of development and complete the work as described in the above videos. MAMP instruction for MAC OS, remote training

Im working on a few websites in WordPress, and want to be able to do this using MAMP on my 2020 MacMini running Monterey OS 12.4 I have the domains and a hosting account which I am tied to. I need help setting up the local server environment, as well as understanding how to upload and download. Im looking for someone who will work with me remotely via Zoom or Team Viewer or another remote desktop application. We would meet for 2 hours, 2-3 times a week. You would observe and teach me to use MAMP. I have a flexible schedule so I may be able to accommodate need for lessons at typically off hours. The most important skill here is the patience to watch for minutes on end while I stumble around the screen looking for the Menu Options category for the 323rd time! Hello, I've just recorded a health-related conference presentation via Zoom which I need to upload to the conference platform by Monday 5th. We paused our recording part way through when the slides wouldn't advance, and then had to resume. This section needed editing, together with reducing the pauses between slides, a couple of stumbles in speech and speeding up the recording slightly in some places - all to reduce time. The current length is 17.24 minutes, of which just over 3 can be edited out straight away. Ideally the presentation should be around 10 minutes - we might have a couple of mins allowance. My notes from the time check: 08:04 "central to this and not previously reported" (stumble) and my speech in this section could be sped up 10:05 to 12:46 - could be sped up with the pause between slides removed. 11:40 I stumble over "operationalisation" - remove? 12:50 - another pause 13:22 - "From the beginning" (informing practice slide) to time stamp 15:22 needs to be cut completely resuming with a new version of "From the beginning" (informing practice slide) that resumes at 15:22 17:20 - wither side of this could be sped up 17:24 ends I'd like you to listen through and make any other edits you can spot to polish it and reduce time. Seeking WordPress tutor. Patience is as important as experience!
I have been asked to create some shoestring, marketing for a group of 12-15 small businesses operating in a variety of unrelated fields: real estate, education, bar/restaurant , gallery space, construction management, fabrications/design, marketing/PR, etc. etc. They own the domains, and have hosting plans and I have been trying to create a web site for each. The sites can be incredibly basic and largely presentation format in style, but they do need to look professional. The sites can be similar, but should be clearly discernible and will of course have have different characteristics based on industry. While not opposed to using stock templates as a reference, I prefer to keep the sites simple, but built from “scratch” I am wedded to, and have been trying to use WordPress to create these sites. However, I am progressing slowly on this project. Plug-ins, Editors, Site-builders? I am seeking someone with basic wordpress experience to meet via desktop for 2 hours, 2-3 times a week. You would observe and teach me to use WordPress to create and publish these sites. The most important skill here is the patience to watch for minutes on end while I stumble around the screen! That we can communicate well is also paramount. So long as you can find interest in our and our client’s projects, you’re level of experience with marketing or WordPress or even web design is not important.

Weekly editing help for my Youtube channel (long term)
www.youtube.com/samsoxfordstudies I am a Youtuber with a few thousand subscribers looking to improve my channel by outsourcing editing. I am an Oxford University student, and I make videos where I openly discuss various feelings and parts of student life (loneliness, imposter syndrome, rejection etc) in a mixture of personal experiences/general discussion. I am ~1 year in, ~60 videos & ~3.5k subs in, and have decided I am taking it more seriously for the next year – hence the editing help. My most viewed video is about loneliness - https://youtu.be/FCodZS69OY8. This is the style I want to replicate every week (30-second funky intro stylising the topic, then just talking for the main part of the video). For the main part of the video, it should be a relatively easy edit. Just need to take out the bits where I stumble over words etc etc (there are no real fancy graphics etc needed). The 30-second funky intro is more creative: I will record a variety of B-roll in Oxford University and send it over with a audiofile for the intro. You can match it up however you see fit. Hopefully these will be super powerful/compelling each week – a great hook is the difference between a video getting 60k views or 600. I’m imaging this could take up eg. half the time of the edit, even though it will only be a 30 second clip. Youtube over-indexes the importance of the first 5/10/30 seconds of videos so much. I edit using Da Vinci Resolve so it would be great for you to edit on there. Then when you can send me the completed project file, and I can make tiny tweaks if ever needed and not have to send it back to you etc. If you have experience making thumbnails (coming up with ideas and then also actually producing them), this is something I am thinking about too. If you would be interested in hopefully forming a long term relationship, please let me know. I do some work for Ali Abdaal, so it might also be exciting to become somewhat part of the network with ‘world class’ youtubers in case some opportunity comes up for him, and I can recommend my editor etc! Also, if you have read this far, please include the word 'Rabbit' somewhere in your reply so I know it is not a bot, you can read briefs carefully, etc! Like I say, I really want this to be a great, long term relationship – so I hope we would get on really well, be on a similar wavelength for the video, both feel excited about making inspiring videos that (as the comments show) make students/people feel slightly better about whichever issue we make a video on that week. I make one video a week: thus far my channel has mostly been about helping people get into Oxford University but I am now moving direction to food for thought and interesting ideas for students generally. I can provide the files and a rough brief for each video. I am looking for someone to make a rough cut (take out the bits where I stumble over words etc) but also make the video look snazzy with nice pop ups, text, b-roll where appropriate. Hopefully the videos will now look like they are being properly edited, and not by someone with 3k subs! Preferably editing with Da Vinci Resolve so, if needed, I can make final changes to the file - but this is not a deal breaker. I have started to work with Ali Abdaal and, from his advice, so am taking my channel more seriously and treating it more like a business. Hopefully you would be interested in helping me trying to grow the channel (as well as the fee for the editing itself!) - Ali is giving me all the advice I need, now I just need to grow. Hopefully this is an exciting prospect for you! As well as hopefully spreading the useful messages of the videos to young people. I have kept details of transactions of sales and expenses accurately on two spreadsheets, there is not a lot of transactions for the first year. Write a listening service using the Hikvision SDK
I would like someone who could write a listening & logging service using .net and the Hikvision SDK (there is a sample project within the SDK that does pretty much what we need already as part of a demo application) - My problem is I don't understand C, so I'm stumbling through it and failing miserably - if you can write the project as a vb.net application so I can make sense of it and maintain it in house in the future, brownie points. What I need to happen once the service is started: Service opens IP and port and listens for incoming signals When a signal is received: 1: Service checks a table of current devices to see if the incoming IP address is related to a device we're expecting signals from. 2: If a device exists, insert a record in to a SQL Server table with all of the data from the Hikvision API, a sequential ID and the related device ID from above. I'm not 100% sure what information comes through with an alarm signal, but we'd ideally need to capture Device ID (IP), Device Timestamp, Timezone, Channel ID, Alarm Type, Local time. 3: Capture a JPG from the point of activation and name it using the sequential ID created above and store this within the file system. Config file will need to contain Listening IP address Listening Port SQL Server details The databases don't yet exist, but I'm happy to create the full structures on our SQL Server if you want to create basics. We have Hikvision devices here that we can either use for internal testing, or point to an IP on your network to send signals as needed. I've got a reasonable understanding of what I need, and I'm aware that for the right person this is a very simple application; with that in mind, I'm not really interested in conference calls with your "design team" or using a software house who insist on a 300 page copy/paste discovery document. Ideally the person bidding on the job will be the person doing the work. Even more ideally, you'll be fluent in English. I've quoted this as an hourly task - when you quote for the job, please give me a ball park guide of how many hours you think the job will take as well as a price.

Help with outlining my Prehistoric Novel
PLEASE EXPERIENCED CREATIVE FICTION WRITERS ONLY (Not copywriters, proofreaders etc..) Looking for someone to bounce ideas off and help me with what I have so far. I want a solid outline to work with before I 'rewrite' this story. This will be my third iteration and I've changed the whole narrative. I want to make sure these areas are strongly identified so I have a good guide to follow. 1. Plot (3 Act structure) 2. Structure 3. Motivations 4. Conflict 5. Character Development. (Desires, growth) 6. Help with the ending and resolution. This does NOT include writing the novel, just outlining the story, although I'd consider pair-writing another job it if I found the right person. Here's what I have so far. ----- First Act Torion (A Bear-statured Neanderthal) runs away from his tribe because of disagreements and the family’s barbaric nature, finding a peaceful life on the land outskirts with Adira, a Cro-magnon girl he picks up from a perished tribe who had been ambushed. The land they inhabit is barren, meaning no-one travels there. Adira is raised by Torion and grows into a young teenager. She is heavily skilled at spear-throwing and shares responsibilities of survival with Torion, but grows tired from the intensity of it. Torion is all work and no play. Wandering outside of the perimeter Torion warns against, she stumbles upon a family tribe who are nurturing one another and playing freely. She yearns for it. One day Adira heads out to fill up waterskins, but on arrival back, there is no sign of Torion. He has been taken back by his family to face consequences for his betrayal by his father. His brothers and cousins have been searching far and wide for him for many years. They leave behind a carved lion pendant that Adira soon discovers. One of Torion’s younger cousins ‘Freyana’ is tasked with killing Adira, but instead ends up taking a liking to her (also in a sexual way), and because -- similar to Torion -- she never liked the tribe, she chooses to stick by Adira and never return. The problem is Adira will stop at nothing to find Torion, so Frey does what she can to steer her in the wrong direction. ----- Second Act The story progresses through many fruitless spots across the land, picking up clues along the way (WORK ON CLUES), as well as new members of the tribe who can provide useful skills to help Adira find Torion. Two voiceless blonde builders provide warmth and shelter (Haze & Hebe), A musician to distract wild animals, Varlon, and a fortune teller, Shuen, an arrogant hunter, Khazo. Using the Lion pendant as a way to learn more about Torion’s whereabouts. After speaking with a carve artist called Wisdom, they head through the mountains, a long and perilous journey where they face natural disasters and dangerous wild animals such as bears and mountain lions. Truth comes out. Freyana confesses the truth of her original intentions, causing them to fall out, Adira has the choice to leave her or stick with her. She decides to abandon her and head to where she will face her fate. ----- Third Act Upon arrival at the peak of the Cavelands… HELP! Throughout the story, Adira has flashbacks with her time with Torion.

Hello, I have a financial data set that I need help with running regressions, correcting for data errors, creating graphics, etc. I am trying to learn R in the process, so a preference will be given to those who use R and can share with me the code used. Generally speaking, I have a limited background in econometrics/statistics and am working on a project that requires an expertise beyond my abilities. I understand general outputs, but do not have the depth and breadth to analyze the data for issues and correct as necessary.
