I have an email delivery issue which needs fixing
We route outbound emails from our website https://www.sameday-delivery.co.uk to O365 Exchange. Our site sits on a dedicated Windows server. We've recently started to receive undelivered mail notifications (see example below). This appears only to be happening when we are sending to recipients mail-servers which are protected by Mimecast. Here's some information on how our email delivery is configured which may be useful to know. IIS SMTP server configurations are available via the IIS Control Panel namely ‘Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 Manager’. The website/webserver configurations are available via IIS Control Panel namely ‘Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager’. SMTP EMAIL DELIVERY The default PHP Mail configurations are pointed to SMTP Virtual Server #1. This server, configured for ‘mail.samedaydispatch.co.uk’, is responsible for routing all emails from the website to our O365 Exchange. SMTP CREDENTIALS There are none. No specific username or password is being used as the server is tied to IP: 77.68.40.223 (Only applications that are hosted at this address can send mail through SMTP Virtual Server #1). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF A RETURNED EMAIL MailEnable: Message could not be delivered to some recipients. The following recipient(s) could not be reached: Recipient: [SMTP:cust.services.europe@scansource.eu] Reason: Remote SMTP Server Returned: 550 SPF Sender Invalid - envelope rejected - https://community.mimecast.com/docs/DOC-1369#550 [7_iZlLDUNAmBcMS58yzeyA.us164] Message headers follow: Received: from DSVR024488 ([127.0.0.1]) by home with MailEnable ESMTP; Mon, 15 Jun 2020 12:02:33 +0100 Subject: Delivery confirmation for booking ref: AC984564 To: cust.services.europe@scansource.eu X-PHP-Originating-Script: 0:PHPMailer.php Date: Mon, 15 Jun 2020 12:02:33 +0100 From: "ops@samedaydispatch.co.uk" Message-ID: X-Mailer: PHPMailer 6.0.2 (https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This should be fairly straightforward to fix if you're proficient with the technical aspect of email delivery. Therefore, please don't apply for this posting unless you know what the problem is and how to fix it.
Fix eMail sending issue on MailEnable using .Net/SMTP
I am getting the following error within my .Net (c#) website when I try to send an email (via MeilEnable service) to an external address (e.g. gmail) Sending to local addresses works fine. 'Bad sequence of commands. The server response was: This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local e-mail address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server.' Looking to screen share with someone to walk through the config/code and for them to tell me what I am doing wrong. Hopefully only 10/15 mins work hence the low price
