Description
Description of requirements/functionality: I'm looking for a programmer to create a script to pull data from the Zoopla website via API and scrape some simple info from a webpage.
Details are below.
Part 1: Zoopla API
What is needed: details of all properties for sale from a specific set of estate agents (perhaps via a http://api.zoopla.co.uk/api/v1/property_listings.xml?api_key=xxxxxxx&branch_id=BRANCH call)
Output format: file in csv format (delimiter can be any character) encoded in UTF-8.
How will it be used: run daily as a chron job
Details of the Zoopla API can be found here http://developer.zoopla.com/docs/read/Home.
Part 2: scraping summary information from Zoopla
What is needed: Number of properties, Avg. asking price and Avg. listing age of 1) properties for sale and 2) properties for rent per estate agent. This information is given in a table on the Zoopla website eg http://www.zoopla.co.uk/find-agents/?company_name=Foxtons&radius=0&search_source=find-agents. I need each of these details per branch and for all branches of an agent.
Output format: file in csv format (delimiter can be any character) encoded in UTF-8.
How will it be used: run daily as a chron job.
I'm looking for clean commented code (so I or someone else can follow it) ideally written in perl or shell script unless you make a good case for another implementation.
Delivery asap hopefully by the end of the week or next.
Please get in touch with any questions.
Specific technologies required: Shell script, perl or other
OS requirements: Linux
Extra notes: Will be run as a chron job on a linux machine (debian)

(PPH ate my comment so here we go again)
Do you have a Zoopla API key which isn't limited to the default 100 calls/hour?
Is there a bit of flexibility in the budget?
Regards,
TamasIan O.07 Jun 2016Just realised you probably meant can I spend more than £50. It is possible but also it seems fairly straight forward so can negotiate. Thanks

Hi,
Do you have an API key which isn't limited to the default 100 calls/hour (which would be a hurdle I guess)? Also, is there a bit of flexibility in the budget?
Regards,
TamasIan O.07 Jun 2016Hi Tamas, no I only have the standard key. I'll email zoopla for pricing on an unlimited key.
In terms of flexibility of pricing I'm not sure what you're asking. I'm open minded on budget. Low bids are coming in at £50 and my limit is in £'00s not £'000s but it's more finding a good person to work with.
Thanks,
Ian
